We are committed to making sure that you and your child have a wonderful experience! If issues do arise, please reach out to your Tinkergarten Leader to get their support. What is our safety policy?
The safety of our community is a top priority. For the safety of participants, our virtual sessions will not be recorded by the Leader, and we require that families do not record or photograph the zoom sessions. This allows all participants to safely leave their camera on so that Leaders and children can interact fully and get the full value of the experience.
Another critical step to maintain the security of our online sessions is to ensure that each participant is, in fact, one of our enrolled families. To confirm that only our enrolled families join our virtual sessions, we require that families either participate with their video enabled (recommended) or, as a minimum, connect by video with the Leader at least once at the beginning of class before electing to participate with the camera disabled.
What happens if I miss a session of the class?
We have recorded class sessions with one of our Tinkergarten Leaders that any enrolled family can watch in the event that you miss a session. To view a pre-recorded session, just sign-in to your account and click into your My Tinkergarten page. A link to a pre-recorded session for the current week is linked on the "This Week" tab. You can also go back to view prior weeks' lessons by clicking on the "Curriculum" tab.
We can not offer future season credits/refunds or live make-up sessions for sessions missed by an enrolled family.
What happens if I have technical difficulties that prevent me from attending a session?
Refunds and credits are not provided for missed sessions due to disruptions in a family’s technology, but you can always access recorded classes through your My Tinkergarten. You can also go back to view prior weeks' lessons by clicking on the "Curriculum" tab.
All Tinkergarten class sessions take place on the Zoom video platform. You can find your zoom link anytime by logging into your tinkergarten account.
Before the first session, we’ll also email you a link to connect to the class, with links to quick directions for how to ensure that you and your child have a great experience. You can also find a button to link into your live class Zoom room by signing-into your account and visiting your My Tinkergarten page.
We encourage families to review this information prior to the first session. We also strongly encourage families to download and test Zoom prior to the start of class to ensure a smooth experience. Additional troubleshooting tips can be found in the Zoom Help Center. If you have questions about Zoom itself, please refer to the Zoom tutorial sent prior to your first session and/or contact Zoom support directly.
What if my Leader reschedules a session?
Though rare, there may be times when a Leader needs to reschedule a session. In such a case, the Leader will make every effort possible to choose a day and time that works for the majority of families. If you are unable to attend at the rescheduled time, you can watch the recorded class available for you in your My Tinkergarten page. A link to a pre-recorded session for the current week is linked on the "This Week" tab. You can also go back to view prior weeks' lessons by clicking on the "Curriculum" tab.

What happens if the class is canceled?
In the rare event that the entire season class or a subset of sessions within your class are canceled by Tinkergarten, we will reach out immediately with options to transfer to another class, or receive a refund or credit for the full value of any sessions that were canceled.
What if I need to change my enrollment? What is our refund policy?
We understand that circumstances can change for families impacting your ability to participate in live instruction. Here's all you need to know if that happens for you:
If you need to un-enroll BEFORE your season of live classes begins, you have three options:
- Option 1: Switch into another Tinkergarten class listed on our site. Just find and request a new live class day and time right from right from your Membership page on tinkergarten.com. Our support team will confirm once they’ve completed your transfer.
- Option 2: Request a credit for the value of your class which you can apply toward any future Tinkergarten class. Just email us at email@example.com and let us know you’d like to withdraw and receive a credit, and our team will send you a full credit.
- Option 3: Request a refund, minus 10% for processing fees. Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and let us know that you’d like a refund. Any refunds will be posted to the original form of payment, and, depending on your financial institution, may take 5-10 days to be reflected in your account after processing. Please note that you must request a refund BEFORE the series of classes begin.
If you need to un-enroll AFTER your season of live classes (e.g. Camp Tinkergarten) begins, you have two options:
- Option 1: We can easily transfer you to a new class as described in option 1 above. Just let us know which class works for you!
- Option 2: We can issue you a credit for the value of the remaining sessions in your series which you can apply toward any future Tinkergarten class. Please reach out to email@example.com for assistance.
Please note that we are unable to provide a refund once your season has begun. If you need to unenroll after the series is underway, you can select from the two options above.
Can I attend class without a child for learning purposes?
Our live sessions are designed to engage children ages 2 to 8 and to establish a tight community among kids, so we require that at least one child enroll with you. That said, we’d love to help you learn more about Tinkergarten. Please just shoot us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org and include a little more about what you’d like to learn more about/get out of participating, and we’ll be happy to recommend various Tinkergarten content to support you!
